The Devilchild Race

The devilchild is a race of humanoids with blue skin, spaded tails, and horns. Their hair varies in hue, but most have shades of violet. The devilchild is one of the larger races of the Terramonstrum, capable of growing up to 7 feet. They are naturally strong and agile, with a good deal of stamina and endurance. Today the devilchild make up a large portion of the Terramonstrum's population, with a great majority living in the northern regions of Petralia.

Pride in Strength

The devilchild come from a long line of nomadic warriors who have roamed the northern plains of Petralia for centuries. Early accounts have described them as brash, reckless, and violent -- barbaric monsters who lived solely on bloodlust and war. However, later discoveries by historians would reveal a different story: brave, noble warriors who overcame insurmountable odds to carve out a kingdom for their people. And while they don't hold as much sway now as they once did, many devilchild remain proud of their heritage.

The Half-Horn Tradition

The devilchild carry a tradition that has been passed down for generations, practiced by the firstborn son or daughter of their clan. When a devilchild reaches adulthood, their horn is ceremoniously removed, symbolizing the passing of childhood and deeming them as protectors of the household.

The Half-Horn Tradition was adopted to pay homage to Jorgu the first devilchild king, known to have lost his horn protecting his clan against invaders. His act of bravery inspired future generations to follow suit, becoming symbols of valor within their clans.
